Lomond United AFC was formed in 1993 by Alexander Simpson along with other local youths in Falkland Fife,
where they played from 1993-2002. For the first year the club played a number of friendly’s before they joined the NORTH EAST FIFE SUNDAY LEAGUE, in 1994. The clubs first success came in 1996-97 season when they lifted the SECOND DIVISION TITLE and reached the STUART GORDON CUP FINAL & THE SECOND DIVISION ONLY SHIELD FINAL. The club reached another 3 finals before the club switched in 2006 to play in the Fife Amateur Football Association. The club moved to the near by village of Ladybank in 2002, they home is now Victoria park.
Lomond united greatest success to date was winning the SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE CUP in there first season in the Saturday amateur league, when David Elder scored in the 87th min to give his side a 1-0 victory over Inverkeithing. Alexander Simpson is now in his 15th year as manager and now has an enthusiastic committee.
The club has been invited out to Poland in June 2008 to the town of Chelmno for a pre-season friendly against Chelminaka, Lomond United lost the match 6-3 ! The club has been invited back to Poland in June 2009 to take part in a pre-season tournament in Chelmno involving 7 professional sides from across Poland.
