Things are on the move again after further delays.

We are now comming out the other side of the legal/Fife council phase and so we can start to be more public
about what is happening. All this means that since 28th Sept 09 Lomond United has not been able to do any
workwork to the pitch.
Today, some 8 months later, a final legal/technical hurdle was crossed after an archaelogical survey was done
So you can see how far behind we now are, not to mention the cost!
We now wait just a little but longer for formal conformation reguarding today's survey.
Regular up dates will now be published here until the Tyndall Bruce Parks opens ...
Early Nov 09
The club was baffled when they first attented a Falkland Community Council meeting
in nov 09 to hear that it was community councillier George Page who had made the complaint
to John Watson to get work stopped.
For those that don't know, George Page is also secretary
of Lomond United's Falkland rivals Lomond Victoria!
And that is where we went underground on further info on the website
due to the press, council and other individuals getting involved.

Start of the troubles.
Following a complaint to Fife Council about illegal works taking place in curling pond field Falkland,
council enforcement officer, Mr John Watson, served a stop notice on the work.

We are now on stage three which involves the leveling of the pitch
by shifting the subsoil from the high end to the low end to level out the pitch bed
Next Drains will be installed by the FTM guys and St Michaels Tippers have
generously provided the recycled gravels for the new drains.
When all that is done then the top soil can be brought back, spread,
rolled and made ready for sowing before the end October.

The guys from Cupar based FTM Plant Hire and
St Michaels Tippers get stuck into the construction.
First job was to strip all the grass which was placed to one side for
composting down. Next task was the careful removal of all the top soil which
was placed into another pile for reuse later.

The team were formed in the village in 1993 and have always had to play
on borrowed pitches but all that is now changing.
From next season Lomond United will playing home games on their own brand new pitch.
The pitch is behind the palace in an area known as the Curling Pond Field,
near the Falkland Bowing Club.
With the palace, Church and town clock all providing a backdrop and all
under the shadow of East Lomond high above the village, it is an impressive location.

It started with a teaser on the website
