Team History : The story so far
In 1993 Alex Simpson and some local lads from the Fife village of Falkland got together
and formed Lomond United AFC. In that first year the team trained and gained experience by playing
a number of friendly matches against other local teams. Lomond United joined the NE Fife Sunday League
for 1994/95 season.

The club's first success came just two years later in the 1996-97 season when they lifted
the Second Division title and reached both the Stuart Gordon Cup Final and Shield Final.

The Cup 96/97
In 2002 the club moved from Falkland to the nearby village of Ladybank and their new home in
Victoria park.
The club reached another 3 finals before switching in 2006 to play in the Fife Amateur Football
Association's league.
In that first season Lomond United won second division league cup with David Elder scoring
in the 87th min to give Lomond a 1-0 victory over Inverkeithing.
In 2007 the club again repeated the event when they lifted
the second division league cup again.
The Cup 2007
Two Polish players who played for the club in the 2006/7 season invited Lomond United
out to play a pre season friendly against their local club, RKS Chelminianka in their
home town of Chelmno.
A memorable trip for the team, Polish hospitality superb
in all respects apart from the match score of 6-3 to the hosts!
The club was invited back to Chelmno in June 09 to take part in a pre-season series of games involving
4 professional sides around the Chelmno area including two fulltime professional sides.
Lomond finished third in the tourniment with their player Malcolm Muirhead gaining the player of the
tourniment award.
With a disapointing showing in season 2008/9's league there has been some major changes to the team
list and officals for the start of season 2009/10, here's hoping for improvement over last season.
